menards is the only place that actually lists ant TRAPS in their online store (of course only available instore

)....killed less today than yesterday and before we went out today I sprayed the areas where they had been with lysol (ants leave some kind of chemical trail so I hope that lysol works..if not then borax..and last--bleach

)...they seem to not get quite as far as they were before (only just around the electronics and into the 'den' plus a bit...so not getting to the bathroom anymore...HOPE its a good sign!!)

bleh, not a fan of bugs of any kind--even the ladybugs bite now!

I always loved that. Hey guys, it is on our website! You can buy it here! Psych. Have to go to the store to get it. Dumb. But not much we can do about it sadly. If bleach doesn't work you can always try Raid or whatever.

ugh raid--that stuff makes everything smell horrible (and gives me a headache)...
did some research and it turns out ants dont like cinnamon (which I find strange since the only place in the kitchen we found them was next to my hubby's oatmeal--CINNAMON bun and CINNAMON swirl flavors)...and vinegar...these I have...so the fight continues

You just put it in their path and it will work on there underside, it also works well in gardens for slugs.

yeah then I STILL have dead bugs all over my condo--which is what the bait is doing (sorta) as well...I want TRAPS so I have all the dead bugs in ONE place...not so much fun finding dead things when you move stuff around (EWWWWW!!)

nice and cool today....though a hot weekend is coming --break out the kiddie pool!!

think my measures are paying off...only about 10 yesterday...I have been trying to spray the areas I find them in making sure to get a good radius so they cant just go around my area.....hope we are winning this fight!

in other news..was soo nice yesterday,...had the balcony door open while I was making dinner (was a baaady --made tonkatsu or for you germans-schnitzel --just different bread crumbs)....and some nice spatzle--fieps favorite! (he says too bad we have no beer, that would have been perfect with it...FIEP!!!)

not looking forward to the rest of the week...might hit the triples!

It was a very nice day yesterday. Upper 70's, today is low 80's. Nice to have the windows open. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90's again so back to the a/c I guess.

So I am paying my fiancee's bills while she is out of state (just paying electric and TV/Internet). Anyways, I sent in her electric bill to Ameren. Today I checked my bank account and saw that it had been cashed. Looked at the amount cashed. Cashed for $29.00. Except the bill is $29.80, like what I wrote on the check. My bank lets me see my check, I look at it. Sure enough, there is the 8 and it is distinguishable. Now my fiancee has to call them up and ask them why they can't read... Effffff u Ameren!

I used to have a job doing just that...I worked for a bank encoding the checks...and banks DO make mistakes (wrote a check last year for $65, they cashed it for $68...took months to get it fixed, including them for some dumb reason putting the $3 into a TOTALLY DIFFERENT account of mine! /doublefacepalm)

BUT you have to find out if it was the bank--or the elec company--could be the elec company did the correct amount, but the processing company (work for one of those as well), could have made the mistake OR the bank...when you send in a payment most of the time it is NOT going to the company, but a processing company (all they do is process payments for things like visa, mc, power, water, cable, direct tv--we did their accounts--and what a pain they were with account numbers like 100000000000111000000111878880000000000076456 ....seeing as I worked there 11 years ago and can STILL remember that means it really really got me and yeah there were like 11 zeros, 2 digits, 10-12 more zeros....pain in the butt) who inputs the check and account info--the company (water, cable, etc) NEVER actually see the payment, but a digital print of it taken at the processing place.
This is why if you write something on your payment stub that it will NEVER get to the company!

and burning down the house would only work if all my stuff were moved out--fiep has quite a few relatives that would really appreciate NOT getting burnt! (not to mention the rest of my stuffy collection, book collection, key chain collection, photos,......) so not even going to consider it

Don't get me started on this subject. I made a payment to a credit card company for said amount. A week later they called and said I had underpaid them. They thought it was 100.00 when it actually was 180.00, the lady said it looked like 100.00 so I still owed them $80. I asked her if they had read what was printed on the main body of the check which was clearly One Hundred Eighty Dollars. Long story short she was a complete ass, so I wrote another check for $80 and was still charged a late fee.

As much as I dislike 90 degree weather, it has to be better than 20 to 25 inches of rain in 2 or 3 days.

That would look mighty suspicious if all your belongings were moved and it burned down. Knock, knock Arson Squad.

yeah, but I could blame it on my neighbors parties since they have a bunch of smokers here---

dont think I have enough insurance to cover all the stuffies (kinda hard to get a stuffed-toy rider

)...and I would rather someone else have to deal with the bunk I have had to deal with here!

my best friend from my childhood just called me today (we have been in touch on and off since pre school)...guess her oldest daughter (she gave up for adoption) just had a baby..now she is a gramma!! what a hoot!! and she sent me pics of her daughter--looks exactly like her (so I am going to assume that the baby will too)....strange world we live in.....none of my nieces or nephews are married (one is engaged..again--same person--they called off the wedding 1? 2? years ago???)...none have kids...and I have none ...so its just sooo weird!

I think it was probably the company that cashed it. I have never had a problem with my Credit Union putting down the wrong amount. So I don't think the person actually took a second to look at the check and instead just put down 29 and didn't read the rest of it. Fiancee is calling them tonight and if it isn't with them, then I guess I'll have to call my credit union. But I'm sure it was the electric company.

My oldest nephew turns 6 on Thursday. They are getting so old.

the last check I mentioned (the 65/68) was the banks fault...the payee cashed it for the right amount, the bank encoded it incorrectly.

Well hopefully the person cashing it cashed it incorrectly. Don't really want to deal with my credit union if I don't have to. Not that their customer service is bad, I just hate all the verification crap I have to go though lol Though it is necessary to keep my account safe so that is a plus.

yeah, its a pain...but mine is pretty good about only asking a few questions (since my phone # matches the one I have on my account)...so its not quite as painful.

only 3 ants yesterday!!

and the temps are going to be close to the 3 digit mark for lots of folks in the middle part of the country today (our a/c is on ALREADY this morning--usually get an hour with the door open before it comes on--today didnt get the door open before it was on!).

bleh--well, better hot that freeeeeezing cold!

and the brakes are noisey again--gotta take the car BACK in...the guy at the brake place thinks I like him or something!

Ya it is supposed to be 100 here today... Good thing I'm going to my parents. They have a pool so I can swim.
